Your path =Home> Bead Research > Is It a Bead Quiz

Sorry, you're wrong !

It is not a bead.

Top to bottom it is about 35 mm (1 2/5 inches) long. It is lenticular in cross section and the hole at the wide bottom flares out. It is made of chlorite or a similar stone.

What is it? It is a piece (I am sure it has a separate name) used to connect the blade
and handle of a dagger or short sword. Such weapons were popular in Mogul India
 (16
th to 18th centuries), with these pieces being made of jade.
This is part of a poor man's weapon from Iran.
