Thanks so much for the very informative response. It will take me awhile to absorb the information but would most definitely like some kind of a book title so that I can try to purchase the find more by Father Sahagan. The hollow copper drill bits seems especially relevant to what I am working on. I am going to try to post two pictures. One is the necklace with the tag that says wampum. I believe we all agree it is not wampum, but I might as well follow through.

Also, I came upon this chunk of copper from the Keweenaw Peninsula in Michigan. Is this a chunk of copper as it would have come out of the ground, or has it been altered? Same for the chunk of Turquoise, is seems very smooth not to have been tumbled.

Sorry if the necklace takes up too much room. I am still practicing with the camara.
